High Reliable Lead Wire System of the Rotor Winding in Pumped Storage Power Stations

Hydro-generators in pumped storage power stations (PSPSs) consist of multiple rotor windings connected by lead wires, which are consistently subjected to large stress due the frequent starting and stopping, making fatigue fractures these wires common. This paper proposes a fault early warning system featuring dual-connection wire real-time fracture monitoring ensure high reliability wire. A testing machine is developed mechanism proved through validity test on this machine. Subsequently, analysis based P-S-N model, relationship between life displacement amplitude external force it withstands was studied. can be used predict redundant time providing reference for maintenance personnel schedule shutdowns generators. Conversely, also guide designers quantitatively adjust expected adjusting wire’s structure, meet needs practical applications.
